The skinny
It's been about a month so far and Lea and I have been having a damn good time with everything. A couple of weeks ago I drove down after work. Lea was gone, but had left a message on my voicemail saying she'd be back after a few minutes, so I made myself comfortable.
About 45 minutes later, Lea walks in the door and says, "I just bought something kinda...expensive." She had a look like a little kid who knew she'd done something she'd get in trouble for. I had a hunch: it was a dress...one that must have cost a bit more than she was expecting to spend. She refused to tell me what it looked like, how much it cost her, or anything--except that it was ivory, a detail that she was suddenly very concerned about. Lea started calling friends, relatives, Mom, asking all of them if they thought that the color was too much. But after about ten minutes of fretting she decided that she loved it and wouldn't change it no matter what. I'm sure it will look incredible and look forward to getting my first glipse on September 23.
In the meantime, we're putting everything else together: photographer, DJ, the cake, etc. We'll make sure to keep it all posted here.

It's Official.

Lea and I got engaged on my 25th birthday earlier this week. Tricked her. ;o) Rather than create the traditional theknot.com site, we decided to create a blog dedicated entirely to our upcoming nuptials. This web page is the source for Brett and Lea-related information: dates, locations, registries, all of it. Right now I can tell you that we're looking at September 23, 2006 at St. Ann's Cathedral in Great Falls, MT.
Anyway, gotta go. Bookmark it and we'll see you there.
